Hamilton Christmas Tree Carnival
Hamilton Uniting Church Christmas Carnival too on an international flavor when two Rotary Youth Exchange students undertook to decorate a Christmas Tree in order to raise funds in aid of Shelter Box Australia which provides emergency disaster relief supplies such as family sized tents cooking materials and bedding for people who are in the middle of a disaster zone.
These two young ladies Chien-Chen HO (Candice) from Taiwan and Linda Mietes of the Netherlands are having a great time spending 12 months in Australia being hosted by the Rotary Club of Charlestown, so helping out at a charity fundraiser was really appreciated by all and added to the great community feeling at the tree decorating and opening event.
Our member are greatly encouraged to support the Shelter Box Christmas fundraising by visiting the Church, perhaps having a delicious light lunch, voting for and making a donation preferably to our tree number 8 at at 150 Beaumont Street, Hamilton.
